Flag of Brittany Sew On Patch Handmade Breton Celtic Nation Badge
Are you looking for something to represent you Celtic heritage? Do you trace your Celtic roots back to Brittany? This sew on patch may be what you're looking for. It is a perfect to modify one of your belongings and add a splash of Celtic flair.
Brittany is a cultural region in northwest France with many commonalities with its Celtic cousins of the British Isles. Mainly the fact that during Roman expansion, those that resisted the empire were pushed to the north and west of their settled areas. This left the Celtic languages intact, but in much smaller areas. Today, if you speak Welsh, you may be able to communicate with one of the 250,000 in Brittany that speak Breton, for the languages are very similar.
The Flag of Brittany has nine alternating black and white stripes with and ermine canton in the upper left (the winter pelt of a stoat, most common fur used in heraldry).
This patch is made of white heavy duty, 100% cotton canvas; which is cut into a rectangle with rounded corners. It then has the stripes embroidered on in black as well as the ermine. Around the edge is a lovely satin stitch, also in black. This not only gives the patch a wonderfully finished look, but it helps to keep the canvas from fraying. On the back, there is stabilizer fused to the canvas. The stabilizer helps hold the stitches in place, as well as adds to the longevity of the patch.
Our SEW-ON patches are great for personalizing any item. These can include (but are in no way limited to) your jeans, jacket, backpack, messenger bag, sweatshirt, or hat. Or you may just want to add to your patch collection.
Each of our patches is cut by hand and then individually embroidered. This means that each one may look just a little different, but not much.
Approximate size: 3.85 inches wide x 2.95 inches high.
Your patch will be sent via USPS with tracking information.
Thank You for Looking.
